Art for Juniors – Part I

6 Lessons

Back

The “Art for Juniors” course is a fundamental breakthrough in curriculum design and is one of the most exciting courses to be developed in eLearning. There is no parallel to this course anywhere else today. This course is specifically developed for younger students, 5 to 7 years of age and fuses together the basics of free-hand drawing, two-dimensional arts, geometry, and coloring with computer science in a refreshing and insightful manner. This course represents the “A” in STEAM. Students learn concepts and techniques to draw lines, shapes, transform shapes and finally put together a landscape and color it using all the techniques they learn.

This exciting opportunity for young students to exercise both sides of one’s brain. Our bitWise JUNIOR stream brings together computer science with character development, animation, games, music, sound, and visualization techniques. This course is an amazing compliment to the Scratch for Juniors courses. The Art for Juniors also serves as a foundational course for students who wish to pursue the courses in the Coding for Kids track later on after completing the bitWise JUNIORS tracks.

The course features a variety of techniques to allow students to learn freehand drawing, starting with points and lines. It then progresses gradually to drawing symmetrical shapes and organic shapes. A variety of objects, patterns, designs, and landscape are all drawn. Coloring schemes, materials for coloring, and appreciation of coloring techniques are also covered. Each lesson is vast in its scope and includes several granular Topics.

This course will take an average of 20 hours to complete with 15 hours devoted to drawing and coloring techniques. There are several projects and hands-on exercises that will allow a student to practice time and development of drawing techniques. This course is for students of all ages. Our initial response to the course has been nothing short of phenomenal from our younger students between 5 years to 7 years!
